Ira Hansen & Sons Disaster Cleanup and Ira Hansen & Sons Plumbing are locally owned, family run businesses serving the needs of Northern Nevada. Family, work, and community form the foundation of Ira Hansen’s value system, which manifests itself in how he runs his businesses. As a third-generation Eagle Scout – three of his sons are also Eagles – Ira has incorporated a philosophy of preparation, integrity, and value into Hansen & Sons . Ira is also an avid outdoorsman and a scholar of Nevada history. When not busy running a business and a large family, he enjoys hiking the deserts and mountains of Nevada. He has also been an opinion page columnist for the Sparks Tribune for many years and hosted two radio talk shows on KOH and KKFT.

Ira Hansen began his career in the plumbing trade when he took over a defunct sewer cleaning service in 1979. He spent the next seven years working in the business, building a base of many repeat, loyal customers. In 1986 Ira received his plumbing contractor’s license and started Ira Hansen & Sons Plumbing. A company that once employed two employees – Ira and Alexis Hansen – now thrives as one of the leading plumbing companies in the Reno/Sparks area.

We are now pleased to have an expanded scope of service to handle your disaster cleanup needs. As with his plumbing business, Ira is committed to the honesty and integrity of his company and the work performed. He offers customers competitive prices, quality workmanship, and the experience and honorable reputation of a business owner who has lived in Reno his entire life. He is a second-generation Nevadan and Sparks resident. His grandfather was a boilermaker for the Sparks railroad, and Ira’s father was also a local businessman. Ira attended schools in the Sparks area and graduated from Sparks High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Alexis Lloyd, and they are the parents of eight children, some of who also are involved in the company.

Ultimately, Hansen & Sons is a family-run business working hard to contribute to our great community.
